UmagineTN 2025, held on January 9 and 10 at the Chennai Trade Centre, was a major event that brought together tech leaders in Chennai.

With tech-centric topics like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT), the event helped business owners and entrepreneurs network and understand what businesses are doing differently. 

Alongside this, speakers like  Mr. C.Vijaykumar, CEO of HCL,  Mr. Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director of Nvidia, and Dr. Harrick Vin, CTO of Tata Consultancy Services were just some of the industry heavyweights that spoke at the event.

Inauguration - UmagineTN Day One

UmagineTN 2025 was future-oriented, focusing on challenges and opportunities at the intersection of technology and innovation. Hon’ble Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the growing concerns of cybercrimes alongside advancements in technology, setting the tone for responsible tech adoption.

Moreover, the Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, shared the government’s focus on AI and Machine Learning to drive job creation. He also highlighted the expansion of e-service centers, aiming to make government services more accessible to the public.

9th January 2025 - UmagineTN Day One

Day one revolved around macro strategies, featuring discussions on themes like leveraging IT for Tamil Nadu's journey to a $1 trillion ecosystem, where speakers  Mr. M. Govinda Rao IAS,  Mr. C. Vijayakumar, and Ms. Ipsita Dasgupta shared their insights on this transformative vision.

There were also compelling conversations about innovation as a growth catalyst, with Mr. Nat Malupillai, CEO of IIT Madras IT Park, and Mr. Debashis Neogi, MD of Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India, exploring Tamil Nadu’s pivotal role in shaping India’s tech future.

A highlight of the event was the exploration of next-gen cybersecurity in a hyperconnected world, led by Sridhar Sidhu of AT&T, delving into the critical role of AI in fortifying digital landscapes.

At the end of day one, however, there was active networking among professionals, service providers, and ecosystem partners.

10th January 2025 - UmagineTN Day Two

On day two, Enterprise-Grade AI was one of the topics discussed centered around transformative impacts. Speakers Ms. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Vice President and Global Head, and Dr. Harrick Vin, CTO of Tata Consultancy Services guided the conversation. The panel delved into how AI adoption is shaping enterprise strategies and innovation at scale and how it shapes Tamil Nadu and the world at scale.

Innovation also took the spotlight, with discussions on Tamil Nadu's major role in India’s tech future led by the Chief Customer Officer of SpiceJet. Aside from this, the challenges of cybersecurity in the age of AI were brought to light by Mr. Sidd Ahmed, CEO and Founder of VDart Inc.

At the intersection of healthcare and leadership, Mr. Sai Sethuraman, PSMM and Operations Head at Pfizer shared insights on future-proofing global healthcare through the strategic vision of GCC leadership.

Event Highlights

• Startup Showcase: 40 startups, incubated by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), presented groundbreaking innovations in AI, IoT, robotics, and automation. These startups are expected to revolutionize industries with their solutions.
• Focus on Cybersecurity: Several sessions addressed the importance of robust tech designs to combat cyber threats. Experts spoke on the role of AI in enhancing cybersecurity, particularly in policing.
• Future Growth Plans: Discussions included building a $1 trillion economy for Tamil Nadu and the role of youth in leading the digital revolution. The event also highlighted plans to establish Tamil Nadu as a hub for space startups and global innovation centers.
